Speaker: Dénes Sexty (University of Wuppertal and Jülich Supercomputing Centre) Title: Exploring the QCD phase diagram with the Complex Langevin equation Abstract: The Complex Langevin equation is one of the most promising methods to evade the sign problem. It uses analytic continuation to calculate averages on a complexified manifold. After a brief inctroduction to the method I review the status of the efforts of using CLE in full QCD. I show using a toy model how to test for convergence of the method by explicitely computing boundary terms, and show progress in applying this directly to QCD. I report on calculations using Wilson fermions used to map out the transition line for nonzero mu and staggered fermions to calculate the pressure at high temperatures and also discuss the applicability and performance of improved actions.
