Speaker: Viljami Leino (University of Helsinki) Title: Infrared behavior of SU(2) gauge theory Abstract: For the SU(N) gauge theoriess there exist a range in the number of fermion flavors called the "conformal window", where the beta-function has a nontrivial infrared fixed point (IRFP). Finding the lower edge of this window would be useful in building of beyond the standard model theories. In this talk I will present our latest results on SU(2) model with 6 and 8 fermions and show that they both show a strong indication for an IRFP. For these models, I will discuss the measurement of the running of the coupling using the step-scaling method for the couplings measured with the gradient flow method with Schrödinger functional boundary conditions. The mass anomalous dimension measurements will also be discussed.
